Submission Requirements
General Requirements
- Abstracts must be submitted online through the Abstract Submission Site
- Abstracts must summarize an original contribution and must not have been presented, published, or accepted for presentation or publication elsewhere
- Abstracts must be submitted and presented in English
- Abstracts must be submitted in text only: tables, graphs, and charts are not supported
- Abstracts may only be submitted once. Duplicate abstracts (reporting the same data) submitted under a different author will not be considered
- Abstracts should not include references to any products or brand names
Submission Process and Requirements
Each abstract submission has three tasks: 1) Abstract, 2) Authors, and 3) Permission to Post and Distribute Abstracts, Posters, and Presentations. Work through these one at a time, using the guidelines below.
1) Abstract
The abstract submission task has a separate field for each section. All fields are required. Your submission will be organized within the following six sections:
Title
- Title of abstract should be in title case
- Title should not exceed 200 characters or 75 words
- Title should not refer to any products or brand names
Topic
- Select a topic, and if appropriate, a subtopic, from the above list of submission topics
- At the judges’ discretion, the RSS reserves the right to modify the topic and/or subtopic to which an abstract is assigned.
Is the Presenting Author a Resident/Fellow/Student?
If Yes, would you like this abstract to be submitted for the Members In Training Research Achievement Award?
Each section below should not exceed 500 characters, and there should be no more than a total of 2,000 characters in the entire abstract.
Objectives
- Describe the research objectives, hypothesis, or purpose of the study
Methods
- Describe the methods/design of your study
Results
- Describe the outcomes of the study and statistical significance (if appropriate)
Conclusions
- Describe the conclusion/outcome of the study results and their significance

2) Author(s)
- Enter the Presenting Author first
- The Presenting Author is the primary contact for all correspondence regarding the abstract
- The number of authors may not exceed ten
- An individual may submit more than one abstract
- The Radiosurgery Society follows the policies set by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). As such, authors will be required to disclose any conflicts of interest as well as any financial and/or commercial interests
- All presenters and co-authors must identify any financial interests in the products or processes described in the abstract and sign a financial disclosure after the abstract has been reviewed and accepted
- Due to Continuing Medical Education requirements, the presenter cannot be an employee of a Corporate entity
3) Permission to post and distribute Abstracts, Posters, and Presentations
By submitting your abstract, you give the Radiosurgery Society® permission to post, publish, and/or distribute the submitted abstract, poster, and/or presentation in printed and/or electronic form. Accepted abstracts will be published on the Radiosurgery Society website and the Radiosurgery Society Channel in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science. If you have any questions about this permission request, please contact us at abstracts@therss.org.

Abstract Grading & Selection
All submissions will undergo a blinded peer-review process and be ranked using the following criteria:
- General interest in the subject of the abstract/hypothesis
- Quality of the science cited in the abstract
- Size of the series and the length of the follow-up
- Novelty or the level of uniqueness of the study
Submitted abstracts will be considered for the following presentation types:
- Oral Presentation. Abstracts accepted for oral presentation will be presented in the Clinical or Physics Abstracts Sessions
- Poster. Accepted posters will be on display throughout the meeting
