Dr. Ranjini Tolakanahalli, PhD is currently serving as a director of Photon Physics division at Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida. During her initial years of her career as Clinical Medical Physicist at University of Wisconsin-Madison, she led efforts towards standardization and education in Radiotherapy Departments and her research was focused on characterization of respiratory motion for mitigation of intra-fraction based on Nonlinear dynamical systems. She later served as the head of the Walker Family Cancer Center in Niagara Health, Ontario. She has authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and over 100 abstracts and conference proceedings. She is an ad-hoc article reviewer of numerous journals in Medical Physics and Engineering. Her current research interests are focused evaluation of imaging and optimization algorithms for stereotactic radiosurgery and automation of radiotherapy work processes.
