Shefalika Prasad, BA, is a second year medical student at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. The work being presented was conducted as a part of summer research performed at NYU Langone's Center for Advanced Radiosurgery under the mentorship of Dr. Douglas Kondziolka and Dr. Joshua Silverman. Shefalika is interested in pursuing a career in Neurology. She is currently engaged in a research project involving diffusion tensor imaging in brain tumors. Her published research includes projects on radiosurgery for brain metastases as well as endovascular stent procedures for carotid stroke. Shefalika is an active member of the Leksell Gamma Knife Society, American Association of Neurology, and the Radiosurgery Society. She serves as President of the Student Interest Group in Neurology at JSMBS as well as the UB DoctHERS association.
