Dr. Miften is a Professor and Director of the Medical Physics Division in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Miften received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan and completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University Michigan Medical School. He is a Fellow of ASTRO and AAPM. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR), served as a member of the ABR Therapeutic Medical Physics and ABR Therapeutic Medical Physics MOC committees. He served as a member of the Journal of Medical Physics and Journal of Applied Medical Physics Editorial Boards, and served as a Section Editor for the British Journal of Radiology Open. He was the Chair of AAPM Task Group (TG) 218, Co-Chair of AAPM TG 203, member of TG179, TG180, TG174, and TG219. He has been an invited speaker at national and international levels, giving more than 140 presentations at medical physics and radiation oncology conferences, author of over 110 peer-reviewed publications and 8 book chapters, and awarded more than $1M in grant funding.
