Jona Hattangadi-Gluth, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in treating primary and metastatic brain tumors. Dr. Hattangadi-Gluth is a Professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, chief of the Central Nervous System Tumor Service and co-leader of the Central Nervous System (CNS) Disease Team at Moores Cancer Center. She also leads the CNS tumor service at the California Proton Therapy Center. Dr. Hattangadi-Gluth is the Deputy Director of the Center for Precision Radiation Medicine and a successful clinician-scientist with multiple R01 grants from the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute as principal investigator. She runs the multidisciplinary, collaborative Translational Imaging Brain Laboratory in Radiation Medicine, using innovative image techniques to improve therapies for patients with brain tumors. Her research lab focuses on developing novel imaging tools to improve radiation oncology treatments and using functional and quantitative MRI to measure response to radiation in cancer patients. She runs novel investigator-initiated clinical trials, and is actively involved in cooperative group trials for patients with brain tumors.
